Following a successful audition, we are delighted to welcome the Lawson Piano Trio to the Mid-day season. Annabelle Lawson is no stranger to Manchester, having been a student at Chetham's School of Music, where she was taught by her father Peter Lawson. Current students from 'Chets' are involved in the first performance of a work inspired by the 2012 Olympics composed by Cheryl Frances-Hoad, who was the youngest composer to win two coveted British Composer Awards in the same year, 2010.  Her intriguing musical 'relay' is flanked by a piano trio movement composed in 1812 by the teenage Schubert and one of the masterworks of the medium by Maurice Ravel.
