Tuesday 3 April 1.10pm DIANA MOORE (contralto)
|
Kathleen Ferrier was a regular and much loved recitalist for the Manchester Mid-day Concerts Society in the 1940s, so sadly cut short by her final illness, so courageously born. In this centenary year, Ferrier's unique contribution to the musical life of her beloved Lancashire and the country as a whole is being celebrated by Diana Moore. Her Bridgewater Hall recital includes a selection of Ferrier's favourite English songs and also the song cycle by Schumann which perhaps represented her finest artistic achievement. Supported by the Friends of the Mid-days
